As Avocet points out, Thurl Ravenscroft has died. Aside from having one of the coolest names going (and completely legit), he had a truly faboo basso voice, which achieved much indirect fame via Disney and other animated productions, and which gave Tony the Tiger his distinctive sound. Basically, if you ever heard a really, really deep voice on a Disney ride (e.g., one of the singing busts at the Haunted Mansion), that was Thurl. Ditto in the various Chuck Jones' Dr. Seuss adaptations of the 70s -- a Wickersham Brother, Thing 1, and, most notably, the singer of "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch" in the animated (and One True) How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
A classic.
