Mile Hi-jinx

Last time I mentioned Mile Hi Services around here, I got a flood of comments and a few e-mails on ths side. This "engulf & devour" service firm here in Denver (which seems to go by about eleventy-dozen a/k/a's, though you don't always know that until you write the check) seems to engender a lot of ... emotion.

This being spring, it's time for the annual Blooming of the Mile Hi Aeration signs, showing up everywhere -- usually along city streets, in fields, etc.

MILE HI
AERATION
303-XXX-XXXX

So I was amused when we were driving up University last weekend and saw that someone had come up with an indentically-fonted sticker that could be easily slapped onto the last line, so that it read:

MILE HI
AERATION
S U C K S

It's also when endless "Mile Hi Aeration" fliers get taped to doors, door knobs, anywhere the paid-pennies-per-hour flunkies can be coerced into sticking them. Doyce arrived at the house here on Saturday holding one he'd peeled off the door.

"Mile Hi Aeration," he quoted the flier, "has the deepest plugs in town."

I made a comment I'll not repeat in detail about how how many recepticles they have for "plugs" of one sort or another.

I returned the favor to Doyce, by the way, by peeling a similar flier off of his door, too. Least I could do.
