The dangers of being distracted first thing in the morning

Doing about twenty things at once, first thing in the morning, can be hazardous.  Especially when folks are pinging you for information in IM.

Fred: Hi Dave -
Me: Morning.
Fred: Available for a 2 minute call?
Fred: PS2000 issue
Me: Um ... I think so.
Fred: me ring? you ring?
Me: Why don't you ring.

The point being, at the moment, I was busy and distracted and didn't want to have to look up his number.  Besides, he should have my phone number, right?

Fred: OK - number?
Me: +1 303-123-4567
Fred: ok
Fred: youre not at home then Dave
Me: Oh, hell.
Fred: LOL
Me: Rrg.
Me: +1 303-987-6543
Fred: your wife laughed

Mercifully, Margie was already up.
