Doyce sums up at some of what's been going on with the Galactic game he's running, and I'm in. It's full of fine mechanics and some great gameplay as well, and Doyce does a good job relating both. So if you want to know what it is I've been doing whenever I've nattered about the Galactic game ...
Daen and Bosley walk into the public "sun room" where Zeno and a number of other patients are sitting around doing various sun-room activities. He looks up and recognizes her. She says "Hello, Commander. I'm looking for my father, and I was hoping you might be able to help me find him."
The old man nods and says "I was afraid of that." Then he and EVERY OTHER PATIENT IN THE ROOM pull guns out from under their lap blankets and open fire.
While he talks of me playing the intrepid Capt Alysande Daen, and callow Brad Janette* (the purser on Capt Nils' ship), he fails to mention me being the name behind the ex-wife negotiator for Capt Argon Slash, the ever-shrewish Sonja Bellingham.
And that doesn't even get to a later crew member I play ...
Triffic fun.
*Because what could be a more whitebread pair of names than Brad & Janet?
