Did Monsanto's PR firm create ersatz on-line critics to discredit a paper in Nature critical of Monsanto's GM crops?

Boy, it sure looks so. And it's even more tragic because Nature caved in to the pressure.

Once upon a time, Monsanto knew good PR. It has the "Voyage Into Inner Space" ride at Disneyland (home of the Mighty Microscope), and zillions of kids heard of Monsanto's name in conjunction with Tomorrowland before they heard anything else about it.

But Monsanto has stumbled a lot in recent years. And this case may be another example, if the charges are borne out.
