If you're upgrading to MT 2.2 and going with the MySQL conversion option (which I think you should, just on principle), Scriptygoddess has a nice tutorial on setting up your MySQL database for it.
Since it took me a couple of tries to figure it out, I think it's worth reading. The MT documentation is decent enough to puzzle it out, but this short tutorial makes it even easier.
UPDATE: While you're at it, you might check out their upgraded Expand/Collapse code for posts and comments. I've considered implementing it here, but haven't decided it if would be a good thing or not.

My thought was, which items would I do this for? I currently do the "More..." stuff only on comics reviews, and I'm not sure I want to implement it just on that. Most of the casual posts I do are fairly short, and the ones that are longer I don't want to inconvenience people by making them click -- or have them skip over some Vitally Important Thing I Wanted To Get Across.
I dunno. Still pondering.
To ask a question: Who are you writing this for? You or the rest of the world? Is there a percentage breakdown? With my father's diary (which he has kept in written form for over 30 years), it all about what he wants to document although it does form a written history of my family. Some days are very boring, but others are filled with more than just a list of what was done, e.g. 9/11, and make comments. Since you write for a larger audience, you may take other people's concerns on your writing (noth style and content) more to heart.
Damn, I wish I hadn't lost that blog post the other day. That's just the sort of thing I was nattering on about.
Bottom line -- I'm writing for me, for Katherine (etc.), for my family and friends, for history, and for the studio audience, sorta more or less in that order.
