Dinner prep
All dressed up and just waiting for the turkey ...

UPDATE: Had the Testerfolk, Lee/De/Rachel, and Randy over for dinner. It was, ostensibly, Game Day, but between chit-chat and nibbling and drinking and a late dinner, that never quite happened. Except for an abortive Trivial Pursuit game. Today, however, after everyone is over for breakfast ...

Yummy, standard dinner. Fried turkey (new electric fryer worked like a champ, minimal mess, but setting up in the garage worked very nicely), Margie mashed potatoes, home made stuffing, green beans in carnivore sauce ... with De-made cheesecake, and Jackie-made pumpkin rolls, and Dave-made pecan pie for dessert. Yum.

As do we. But it was a very fun and tasty time, and thanks to you (and everyone else, including Dave and Stan and Angie on Friday) for making it so.

For the record, Friday was ...

  1. Lee and De and Rachel. Rachel stayed with us overnight, which Katherine was very gleeful about (Kitten got to sleep on the top bunk). Lee had to leave for Black Friday at Best Buy, but De and Ray got to stay until after dinner.

  2. Randy, who brought "Junta" with him. A complex to learn but relatively straightforward to play game of banana republic coups. I lost. Badly. Too many enemies, too little time.
  3. Stan, who was recovering from Thanksgiving with the sister ...
  4. Dave G. Lori, alas, was sick.
  5. Jackie, who left Doyce (who was reportedly feeling under the weather) to care for dogs and bebe.
  6. Angie, Jackie's friend, who joined us for dinner.
  7. A second pass at onion rings and fried mushrooms. Excellent batter.
  8. "Junta," as noted, plus "Wise and Otherwise" (Fictionary with old sayings.)
  9. Leftover dinner of everything. Yuuuuummmmmeeeee ...
  10. Lots of fun, though we were exhausted afterward. No CoH for us that night -- we watched Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone as a vetting to see if Katherine is ready for it yet. (No.) I had forgotten how ... mediocre a movie it is, various set pieces in search of a compelling plot, some nice and moving bits but too wrapped up in the swell fx (which still hold up pretty well). Ah, well. It was nice snuggling up with Margie on the couch, just the two of us ...
