Dave's Three Laws of Pecan Pie
  1. The Law of Availability: If a Pecan Pie is leftover from a large holiday meal, and is left out on a prominent counter where it is visible and accessible, it will, in fact, not be leftover for long. This is enjoyable but problematic.

  2. The Heroic Corollary: If you eschew dessert after dinner because you are too busy playing an MMORPG, if you spend any less structured time afterward, you are much more likely to eat your pecan pie just before you go to bed, even though that's the worst time to eat anything from a weight control basis. This is undesireable.

  3. The Waste-Not Imperative: If you leave the Pecan Pie in the fridge, or someplace not readily visible and accessible, the Pecan Pie will probably not be eaten, but instead be thrown out. This is tragic.
