I was in a big meeting with my boss yesterday, wherein I asked him a rather simple question, though I realized the answer might be a bit complex.

He replied back for a minute or two, providing some background, sorting out various alternatives, being very thorough ...

... and he stopped, and smiled, and said, "Wow, that was a Dave answer."

I smiled. We've had this conversation before. "You mean long and rambling and full of options, but never really addressing the question?"

"No, well, actually, your answers usually have a really good conclusion, and mine didn't."
