How many have your name?

That's using "David." Add in another 149 that have "Dave" as the given name. Hmmmm ... no wonder my International Man of Mystery status is so pervasive (if you leave my middle name out).

Ostensibly this is based on US Census data (1990). I've seen some folks be less than sanguine about the quality of the results, at any rate.

Now that I look into the web page more carefully, it says that these are "just estimates" and that if they return zero for your name, it just means that you're among the 19% of the people whose names are so uncommon that they won't show up in the estimate. I guess this means the way to interpret the numbers is as a measure of the popularity of a name rather than as indicating the exact number of people who share that name.
