I am: Robert A. HeinleinBeginning with technological action stories and progressing to epics with religious overtones, this take-no-prisoners writer racked up some huge sales numbers. |
Well, I can think of worse choices.

Huh. And I just reread his first four juveniles, and am about to start Variable Star, the book Spider Robinson finished.
So who's this author I've never heard of that I got saddled with?
I am:
Octavia E. ButlerA voice truly unique in all of literature.
Never heard of her, either, though there are plenty of authors I've not heard of. Her Wikipedia page.
It could be worse. Like Ayn Rand.
Ewwww. I may go shoot myself now.
And you guys have never heard of Octavia Butler?!?
Xenogenesis if I remember correctly.
Please don't shoot yourself De.
But rather ask yourself what Dagney Taggert would do...which is shot everyone else. ;P
Oh, the name was vaguely familiar, but have never read anything by her.
Don't feel bad, De, I was Ayn Rand too. :P And Dave, there's a special place in hell for people who make puns like that. Save me a seat. :)
Maybe we should make up bumper stickers: "WHO IS AYN RAND?"
Octavia Butler had a very solid reputation in the SF world - when she died recently, there was a fair amount of notice taken. Odd that none of us have ever read her stuff, though.
Wish me luck! I'm off to crash the Sci Fi Writer Quiz server!
I came out as Arthur C. Clarke. An interesting quiz.
But my objection is that Ayn Rand is not a science fiction author! So there.
I'm Arthur C Clark, too. Interesting, since I've propably read more of his work than any other the other choices.
