Will the earth stop rotating if we just let our computer change its clock on the "normal" date?

And, of course, it won't. Your computer may burst into flames and burn down the house, but the Earth's rotation isn't contingent on Microsoft OS patching. Yet.

Networks start to stutter when clocks disagree. This can affect network login, file updating, and that all-powerful relationship to your Exchange server.

So there are various permutations of getting it wrong this time that relate to all sorts of network components that didn't update for some reason. Thanks, Congress!
