... in which case I can blame his TV Show Curse, of course.
The Dresden Files has been canceled (or not picked back up for Season 2, which is essentially the same thing). Sci Fi seems to have timed the announcement around word that Paul Blackthorne (Harry) has joined the cast of ABC's Big ShotsBig Shots -- perhaps so that fans might think it was Blackthorne's move, not Sci Fi's dithering that led to the show's demise.
(Cue standard fan outrage.)
A shame. It was a fun show, with a lot of potential. While it varied from the original books in a variety of ways, it did so with integrity -- you could enjoy both media without considering either a second class citizen.
Oh, well -- I guess that frees up more time in Sci Fi's schedule for reruns of Supergator ...

Well, it's cold comfort, but a non-renewal is better than a mid-season cancellation. I hope the season ended with a note of closure...and not too big of a cliffhanger. That makes those non-renewals easier to handle.
Yeah. And I do plan on getting the DVD set (already on pre-order). Just ... yet another "what might have been" moment.
Oh, DAMMIT!! I liked that show a lot, and recently read the first book in the series. I agree with your assessment, Dave; the series differs from the book, but in ways that make sense for television. I was hoping for a 3 or 4 year run, too. Rats.
Well, don't let that discourage you from reading the books -- they improve significantly over the course of the (still-ongoing) series.
