And with the return from the holidays, it's time to get back on the Geek Diet. I did my official weigh-in this morning, landing at 215 lbs. -- which, after two-plus weeks of holiday treats and big meals probably is not bad.
Back to the GeekDiet, then. One difference this time is that I don't have a good PDA calorie counter. BalanceLog, from HealtheTech, is no longer around. Looking at the offerings on the Blackberry side over the weekend, there's very little that syncs between a PC (much easier to use) and the BB (much more convenient to use). I'll probably continue to use the BalanceLog program on my PC, but it's a bit irksome to be limited that way.
Still, it's a worthwhile cause -- my health -- to accept some irksomeness in.

For online health tracking I recommend http://www.sparkpeople.com/. They have recommendations for their users, but you don't have to follow them and can do your own thing. It's great for tracking everything.
As someone finally serious about losing weight with my Fiance, I recommend the book "You: The Owners Manual". The best book for full body health by far!!
Good luck in your adventures Dave, I wish you the best.
SparkPeople looks a little too whiz-bangy "Redefine Your Life!" kind of a thing for me, but I'll make a note to poke at their tools at some point.
I see it has a Fitness Tracker and a Calorie Counter and all. Do they support mobile web access?
Good question! Being as though I have a Blackberry I should check that out. I think I will when I get home.
BTW, I can use typekey to comment. Here is a screenshot...
Innnnnnneresting. Did the old TypeKey key not get brought in? Let me poke at that.
Okay, so I disabled and reenabled TypeKey (it all got brought over). Will it work?
Okay, now I've signed out of TypeKey. Can I post?
And can I post again now that I've turned off TypeKey?
I can post too it seems, but I see no link for TypKey.
Ah, right...
And no Spark People on BB unless you have one that can do Java :( . I think I will send em a note and see what they say about it.
I have to put in another vote for Spark People! MY wife got me involved here, and the big draw for me is the community aspect. I've got a City of Heroes interst group started, too! =)
Not sure I have time for another "community." :-) But I'll keep that in mind.
