Margie goes to the van this morning. Opens the passenger door to put in her purse in. There are some small rocks of something or another on the seat -- who knows? -- which she brushes off, then drives off.
Stops by Peaberry for coffee. Comes back to the van.
There are more of the little black rocks on the driver's seat.
Hmmmm. Margie's biology degrees finally kick in.
Herbivore.
Open the trunk. Similar droppings all over the car. Something's been in the car? Or is it still there? Nothing to be seen.
Margie drives to the office. She's so bemused by the whole thing she leaves her coffee cup down int he car.
Back down for the coffee. Side door. More "rocks" are on the passenger seat.
There's a bunny in the van.
Well, Margie still doesn't see anything, and can't take the time to tear the van apart. So it's still there. Plan is for Margie to drive home in time to meet Katherine at the bus, leave the van parked on the street with the side door open. My plan is to go home early and help clean ...
Stay tuned. PIctures (of bunnies only) are promised.
Bunny! :)
Now I am curious as to how a bunny would even get *into* the van.
Maybe it is one of your racoon friends, and it figured that the Consortium is a 5 star hotel, what with the food, the food cleaning areas and now with cushy soft places to nest in. ;P
I don't understand the significance of this post's title.
Heeeeeee.
I've had critters go into the Marnmobile during daylight hours when I've had windows down in the summer (chickadees and raccoons are very curious rascals), but never anything this time of year. I am impressed.
Until we smartened up, we always had mice/squirrels drying to nest and/or store food in the airfilter area of our vehicles. Oh yes, every spring and fall the air filter had to be replaced in both the Marnmobile and the spousal unit's truck because varmints had filled the compartment with either bedding or seedy goodness.
Finally, we smartened up and now we cover the intake with heavy duty screen with a 1/4 inch grid. Air gets to filter, but not varmints.
It wasn't in the car yesterday that we noticed. In the evening on some errands we were never far enough from the open van door to let it happen.
I suspect that the van side door was open last night (the door open on the key chain fob is horribly easy to press) and a bunny came in via the cat door. Gusty bunny.
Margie parked the van by the curb when she got home and left the door open. The bunny appears to have hared off. So, sorry, no pictures.
