E. Gary Gygax, through his long-time leadership in the development of Dungeons & Dragons, probably gave me as many or more hours of geeky fun goodness than any other man out there (only Gene Roddenberry comes close).
He passed away a few days ago (Doyce, Les, BD comment). I just want to say thanks -- even where I disagreed with his approach, I owe him, directly or indirectly, through the game genre he founded, for most of my friends. Not to mention my wife.

Wow, thats sad to hear...the man who put roleplaying on the map...still remember my dice rolling days in college, some fund times...
One thing is for sure - without D&D I would've had far less interesting Friday nights at college. And I'd have far fewer friends. We must remember him when I get to town - shall we drink cheap beer and eat Doritos?
