Hooray for appropriate customer service and docking stations!

That is the exact model of Dell monitor that sits in front of my desk. It is as if we have an unspoken brotherhood... *sniff*

I have intentionally stayed away from getting an exterior monitor for my notebook so that I don't have to transition from one to the other on a regular basis but ... wow, it's nice. And big. And bright.

So the Helpful Help Desk Guy (not a direct hire by me, but a direct hire by a direct hire, once upon a time, so I take partial credit) found a spare notebook, same model. Swap over the 2Gb of RAM, swap over the hard disk, voila, a working notebook.

But I still might keep the Big Monitor.
