The MoS represents the degree to which you exceeded the necessary roll, by ranks on The Ladder. E.g., a Great outcome on something that requires a Good outcome to succeed is an MoS of 1.

The larger the MoS, the better the success. The size of the MoS sometimes determines the nature of the success (e.g., in a Static Test).
