This is an "all-in-one-throw" combat (FUG 37), good for:

  • Doing "narrative" combat without a lot of die rolling.
  • Getting a battle out of the way quickly.

Everyone states their goals and general methods -- players and GM. Everyone rolls the appropriate skill (and rerolls) as normal. The GM eyeballs the result and tweaks the narrative to make it work. The fight should end to let things move into the next scene.

In this context, the results on the Wounds Table would give the overall following results:

  • Scratch - Close thing. No advantage/disadvantage.
  • Clipped - Minor inconvenience. Not badly hurt, but certainly ruffled. Minor wear and tear, perhaps, on gear, items, reputation.
  • Hurt - Major inconvenience that needs to be dealth with -- a damaged weapon, for example, or an injury that has a persistent -1 in certain situations (running, using the left hand, etc.)
  • Injured, Taken Out - As those entries.
