Moving along, the Fellowship of Samarkand is a loosely-affiliated group of assassins. It is unclear the degree of connection between them, and even the number of members is uncertain, but that membership includes some of the top for-hire assassins in the world. To be targeted by a member of the Fellowship is functionally a death penalty.

The Fellowship members are fanatics for anonymity, and are only known, in most cases, by code names -- and even those can be difficult to determine. As they all charge exceedingly high (but, evidently, worth it) prices for their services, they can afford to be picky about their clientele, and no Fellowship member has been, so far as we know, tricked by a sting operation. They are all lone wolves, and the "fellowship" title is more of a self-described moniker than any actual organization.

Presumably most Fellowship members were once trained by intelligence, special operations, and/or law enforcement agencies. Any of them who know of any particular member who has gone rogue and become a member are not talking about it, for obvious reasons.

Note that the Fellowship of Samarkand should not be confused with the [Fraternity Of Samarra]?, a group of KGB assassins that went rogue in 1985; they were killed, presumably by a member of the Fellowship of Samarkand, in 1987.
