This wiki started off as my own "learning by documenting" approach to FATE, but at some point along the way it sort of turned into a FATE RPG resource potentially usable by a larger audience. I'm in the process of doing some housecleaning and tidying up (and still "learning by documenting"), but hopefully it's usable nonetheless.

Things highlighted like this are notes for my In Deo Confidemus espionage campaign. At this point, of course, anything you see like this is still tentative, as I plow through the rules and do some testing.

Consider nothing here definitive about FATE, just interpretations and suggestions and clarifications for the folks running in my campaign. RTFM.

Introduction

Rules and Concepts

  • The Golden Rule Of FATE

  • The FATE rules (PDF) - Well-written and quite readable (and, at the moment, free). The current version the material here is based on is v2.0, released 18-Aug-03 by Evil Hat Productions. This site is a mere supplement to this material, not a substitute by any means.

In the notes below, page numbers in this document (the printed numbers, not the PDF page numbers) are given as "(FUG #)" (for "FATE Users Guide").

As a wiki, this site is editable by visitors, if typos or conceptual errors are found. If you have any questions or comments about this site, please contact me.

This is an unofficial player-run site and holds no affiliation with FATE, Fred Hicks, Robert Donoghue, or Evil Hat Productions.

FATE is copyright Robert Donoghue and Fred Hicks (see page iii of the rules for full credits). No challenge of that copyright is intended with these pages -- the content herein is designed simply to compliment and clarify the excellent work of the FATE system and integrate the published material with some of the online information and clarification that Fred and Rob have provided the gaming community into a (hopefully) concise format.

And lest we forget, there's the official FUDGE Disclaimer.
