Friday!

It’s the Friday Five, Shoe Edition!…

It’s the Friday Five, Shoe Edition!

1. What size shoe do you wear? Depending on the make 10 or 10.5. This makes me very petite-footed vs. Margie’s male kinfolk.

2. How many pairs of shoes do you own? Seven or eight. I usually have a pair of sneakers (for yard work, etc.), and two or three pair in heavy rotation for work, and four or five mixed pairs where one or the other has gotten misplaced. That doesn’t count a set of hiking boots and a pair of sandles.

3. What type of shoe do you prefer (boots, sneakers, pumps, etc.)? Loafers. I like to loaf. (I also like to not bend down and tie my shoes.)

4. Describe your favorite pair of shoes. Why are they your favorite? I recently threw them away, alas. They were a yellowish suede set of Timberline loafers. They were like slippers. The uppers were far too worn for work or anything, but it was the ultimate wearing out of the heavy-duty rubber soles that led them to be discarded.

5. What’s the most you’ve spent on one pair of shoes? Back in the days when I wore patent leather polishable thangs, I probably spend 80 or 90 bucks on a given pair of shoes. (Shudder.) Now it’s Nordie’s Rack or the shoe outlet down at Castle Rock for me.
