This week, on time!
1. How long have you had a weblog? Since August 2001. Yes, I’m coming up on my first anniversary. Scary, isn’t it?
2. What was your first post about? I believe the first one was about “Testing, testing, testing,” followed by one talking about how, since Margie was out playing D&D and all my pals were setting up blogs, I was setting up one, too.
3. How many changes (name, location, etc.) of your weblog have there been, if more than one? The location has remained more or less the same (though the index file has gone from being .html to .php and back). The name has remained more or less consistent, though for a while I was also using “DaveHillBlog47” as a shortened version of it.
4. What CMS (content management system) do you use? Do you like it or do you want to try something else? I started with Blogger, but moved over to Movable Type in December 2001. I’m quite happy with that. Only thing I could wish for would be a Trott-written client-side ap that I could work on off-line. Yes, I know that there are client aps that are out there (and that, through the Blogger API, will interface with MT), but I’ve been reluctant to dig into them too much yet, due to time constraints. I want it handed to me on a silver platter, man!
5. Do you read people who have both a journal and a weblog? Or do you prefer to read people who have all of their writing in one central place? Most of the people I read have a single blog/journal. Those who don’t (Doyce and Julia come to mind) — well, I sometimes get over to their other stuff, but more often don’t. I barely can read the stuff I link to!
