I love this town ...

Driving Katherine to pre-school this morning, we have a beautiful view dead west of the snow-capped Rockies.

Something caught my eye and I glanced up. There was a bald eagle, winging its way roughly toward RMA.

Nice.

Quoth Boulder Dude ...

RMA?

Wow, that's a long way from home.

I love last Wednesday after all of the snow had dumped, and the sunrise that morning bathed the snow covered flatirons in magenta and orange.

Beautiful.

Quoth David Newman ...

A similar "I love this place" experienced happened to me recently. Sitting at home grading some papers, I heard lots of geese honking. I went outside to see what was up, and I saw thousands upon thousands of Canada Geese flying overhead. It looked like they were headed south for the Winter. The sheer number of them was impressive. I could see geese in huge flying V formations for miles.

The same thing happened again the next two days at about the same time of day, so either it's one big flock that's wintering in the Fort Collins area, or it was three big flocks each headed south at roughly 24-hour intervals. Still, it was cool, and it reminded me of the movie "Winged Migration."
