Coming Soon to a Vacant Lot Near You!

Big Box Watch, tracking where new "big box" stores are in the works around the US.  Currently tracks Best Buy, Home Depot, Ikea, JCPenney, Kohl's, Lowe's, Target, and Wal-Mart .

Hmmmm ... Ikea is opening up in Salt Lake City ... could Denver make the list soon?

They are opening an IKEA in a few weeks in Portland. It will be very interesting to actually see on in person. I'm sure that they will be opening in Denver soon, it sounds like they are really expanding their business model. Hopefully, that doesn't result in their downfall.

Denver's always a difficult place for chains, as it's sort of in the Middle of Nowhere, as far as urban complexes go. Same reason we don't have a Trader Joe's (alas).
