Well, actually, a series of Q&A shorts with Paul Blackthorne, who plays Harry on The Dresden Files … and who (to my surprise) has quite an accent (he was born in Shropshire).
And, to my surprise, he’s done quite a bit of US TV (ER, 24, Deadwood) that I’ve not seen.
Good god, I was wondering why he delivered all his lines as if through clenched teeth. Must be quite the struggle to lay on midwest corn over THAT.
Then you’ve got Terrence Mann (Bob) who has *no* accent normally. Must be amusing around the green room.
Yes, I’d read recently that he was British and was just astounded. I figured he was putting on a faux-Chicagah accent (the comically overblown version on SNL spoken by “Da Bears Fans” isn’t that far off).
I watched the first clip and was tickled to find that he’s from Shropshire, likes walking there up and down hillsides with trees, and likes taking photos. Been there, walked there, photographed there, can picture exactly what relaxing pastimes he’ll enjoy “in hiatus.”
