So Comcast has this “On Demand” service — basically online access to TV shows and movies and events on whenever you want.  Sure, there’s a lot of Pay-per-View, but there’s a lot of great free programming, too — selections of cartoons and other kids shows, for example.  It’s a nice resource to extend “what’s on now.”

Alas, there’s one drawback.  While sitting on the menu (e.g., while looking around for various things through the extensive menus) they  have “On Demand” previews.  And while they are all, ostensibly, “This trailer approved for General audiences” (no actual gore, dismemberment, nudity, etc.), the movies previewed aren’t always appropriate for a little kid to even get a preview of — terror, drugs, sex, and lots of implied stuff after/between quick cuts, etc.  Fine stuff for adults or even teens, but not appropriate, even bowdlerized, for a seven-year-old (or younger).

Irksome.  You’d think that they would have an age-appropriate “preview” option if you’re in the Kid menus, or just had a Kid show end and drop you back into the menus.

Just thinking, here.
