Obama '08

Yeah, that's who I'm voting for at the caucus this evening.

Ultimately, it comes down to a gut / personal reaction issue. I find Barack Obama to be more inspirational, and believable, than Hillary Clinton. And I do think he has a better chance of winning.

I don't agree with him on everything (I wouldn't agree with myself on everything), and the "experience" thing, while way overblown by his opponents, still has a small nugget of truth to it. On the other hand, I agree with him on a lot of things, and I think he has the potential to be a truly great president.

That said, I'd be willing to vote for either Obama or Clinton against anyone in the GOP field, so if Hillary gets the nod, I'll be rooting for her.

But for tonight -- I'm Obama's man.

Barring some unexpected catastrophe (or an even-they-can't-be-so-stupid self-destructive rules change by the Democratic National Committee), it looks like Barack Obama will be the Democratic nominee for President in November. ... ...

Quoth David Newman ...

I'm registered independent (really, and on purpose), but I wonder about the reports of Hillary Clinton "breaking down" in public on a couple of occasions. I'm not sure what's really going on, or even if it's a serious possibility, but it occurs to me that I'm uncertain about the suitability of a candidate for president who might break down and cry during important negotiations or at important diplomatic events. So if I had the opportunity to participate in the Democratic caucus, I think I'd vote for Barack Obama too, even though someone supporting his candidacy vandalized the CSU campus with chalk last night.

Quoth *** Dave ...

Honestly speaking, I've found her "breaking down" to be ... suspect.
