A Horton's a Horton no matter how large!

I have a dear love for Dr Seuss's Horton Hears a Who!  from my childhood -- and from Katherine's as well. The upcoming movie looks gorgeous, but I fear, in an effort to pad a short kid's book out to the requisite feature film length, the insertion of endless wisecracks and pop references will cause it to ... lose something.

We'll see.

Quoth Boulder Dude ...

Okay, after watching the Trailer, it looks like Seuss' Widow managed to keep the company and Jim Carry under control after the travisty that was the Grinch that Stole Christmas.

Quoth *** Dave ...

It certainly looks better than the Grinch and Cat in the Hat flicks -- I think the CG will help there. There's still an awfully large wisecrack factor.

And, of course, I also dearly love the Chuck Jones rendition.

That said, I felt a little better after watching the *trailer* because the *teaser trailer* I saw was nearly unrecognizable as HHaW.

**cowers**

I had completely blotted the existence of the Cat in the Hat movie out of my mind.

Well, yes, it was a Chuck Jones cartoon, so of course it was good. :)

Quoth *** Dave ...

Jim Carey seems to be working his way through the Seuss canon.

Not sure if next up is Thidwick the Thick-Hearted Moose, or Yertle the Turtle.

(Actually, next up would likely be the Horton sequel.)
