So, how does one get into the Link List o’ Incredible Honor off in the sidebar? By being a blog that is so good, enthralling, entertaining, or just generally gotta-read-it that … well, I just gotta-read-it.

Don’t just take my link list for it. I present you with the first of my intermittent Blog o’ the Day posts. Ahem.

Today’s Blog o’ the Day is Marn’s Big Adventure.

Marn’s a nice old mature white-haired lady who lives up in the wilds of somewhere-in-Canada. She writes in a pleasant, folksy, quietly amusing fashion about her life, her foibles, her loved ones. Her post today on eavesdropping is a classic.

You want kids who can spell? Take it from me, you just start spelling things You Do Not Want Them To Know.
(And, of course, to rebel against how I had been raised I was far more open with my daughter. The payback for that occurred when she was about three or so, grabbed an empty toilet paper roll and positioned it against the crotch of her tiny wee overalls, announcing to her grandparents that This Is How You Put A Tampon In. Oh, yes, A True Kodak Moment.)
Why is it that the earth never opens up and swallows you whole when you want it to?

She’s the High Priestess and Founder of the International Cavorting Day movement, which probably says enough about her right there.

Marn usually posts daily, a single, longish scribing that almost always entertains. She speaks only rarely of things directly outside her life, but her gentle descriptions of her husband, her garden, her family, leavened with her soft, wry sense of humor, always put a smile on my face.

I only wish she lived in the area. I’d love to have her and her hubby over for dinner. It sounds like it would be a wonderful time.

Good: Warm, amusing, gentle, nice.
Bad: Only once a day!
Ugly: Paragraph listing of previous postings at the bottom; scrolling window-within-window.

Good stuff.
