So in the middle of our snow crisis, our microwave upped and crapped out. It started making an annoying grating sound, and a rather disturbing electrical odor.
Hrm.
As far as I can tell, this (now broken) Sharp microwave lasted us a bit over a year. We bought it back in October ’01, so any warranty it might have had is long since … cooked.
One advantage of having a “merged” household is that we tend to still have duplicates of a lot of things. So we still have a small microwave oven down in the basement, which we’ve brought upstairs. It’s small, it doesn’t have a rotating tray, and the controls are rather cryptic, but it heats up things just fine.
Life without a microwave oven is remarkly irksome.
So, once we can get out of the house, a new microwave oven is on the list.
I think I’ve got you beat with my computer monitor going poof, but the microwave would still be up there, certainly.
Well, I’d probably agree with you there.
This is why I told the boyfriend to bring his microwave with him. I have one now…..and the one before it is still hanging around….just in case.
Heh. I also have a spare monitor.
I’m a total dork.
Hmmm. Actually, now that you mention it, we’ve got a couple of spare monitors, too (from obsolete systems we’ve not rid ourselves of). If we could get out of here, we could bring one over to Doyce …
