This site has a fine collection of Chinese, Cuban, and Soviet Russian propaganda art. Lovely stuff (as long as you ignore the gulags and re-education camps and starvation campaigns behind them).

  1. Cool site.

I too love the stylization of the propaganda posters. The soviet posters from the ’30’s through the war years are my fave’s. Poster art in general is very entertaining. I try and make up to the show up in Ft. Collins every other year or so.

  2. Poster art is cool. I think one of the bits that I enjoy about this stuff is, actually, the cognitive dissonence between what’s being portrayed and what’s the truth is.

  3. Yeppers!

The stuff from the depression/war years (Germany, and the Soviets being the best) are interesting. Both countries being the masters of propaganda and double speak. The Message/the Truth, especially now that we can see what was really going on.

Some of the advertising posters are cool to. I really like the French travel posters and other advertising posters from the time between the wars.

  4. Ah. Travel posters are keen.

The gift shop for the London Transport Museum has various posters and post cards of them related to rail travel posters both pre- and post-war. Lots of fun.
