Katherine’s birthday party.
UPDATE: So we did Katherine’s party once again at the Lone Tree Rec Center. Still a pretty good deal — cake, pizza, use of the pool, use of the rec room for two hours, a personal party assistant, etc.
Not quite the deal it was last year. Sam’s Club messed up Katherine’s cake (no dolphins). They gave us a waterproof disposable camera, but we have to develop it. And because we did it on Sunday rather than Friday (like last year), the pool was closed by the time we were wrapping things up, so the kids couldn’t jump back in.
That said, much fun. Twelve friends made it — and I am both renewed in my respect for second grade teachers, and recall once again why I am no longer one.
In addition to yet another year of tropical theme, we also provided little cheap squirt guns and swim goggles, and picked up some additional decorator bits that Katherine can incorporate in her room.
She got a variety of things, including four new Webkinz, her current favorite class of toy. Which makes her a very happy Kitten indeed.
